Wonderful in The Woods Just back from a 2 day stay at Jacks Alt Stays in Millport .... it was fabulous. We arrived to a beautiful sunny day (lucky) used the hot tub butler offer and was able to pop in and chill in a just right temperature tub. Every amenity was there, couldn't think of anything forgotten. En suite was as big as any at home, lovely Arran Aromatics toiletries too. Second day was smirry rain didn't 'dampen' our mood and did a hill walk ... oh! Should mention ... our Cockapoo Isla was welcomed too with towel water/food bowls and treats. Breakfast pack, milk and orange juice in fridge too (if ordered) perfect! Highly recommend .... for a small island, plenty to see and do ... try it, you won't regret it 😊

Excellent break from the city! Really lovely stay at the cabin. Adam and the staff were extremely friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Cabin has everything you needed and didn’t find ourselves missing anything and you can tell a lot of thought was put into the cabins upon design. Pull out bed in the smaller cabins was really comfy. Being able to control the heating, lights and blinds with the google home was also a nice touch. Hot tub was perfect and lighting your own fire was easily done. Cabin guides were helpful and I can’t fault anything about our stay. Very well looked after and you can tell a lot of love goes into them. The only thing I’d add (and quite literally the only thing) would be a little more shelter over the hot tub for the 250 out of 365 days rain we get and some plywood over the top of the decking for some shelter for the rain. Doesn’t stop you getting in the hot tub though!

Brilliant We write this on the boat going back to Edinburgh, and to say we enjoyed it is a understatement have had a fantastic time , we needed a short break away and seen this last minute at first it looks a bit pricey , but you get so much for your money the service the provide is 5star the accommodation is classy, from the minute you walk throw the gardens at the front to the smell and sounds off the cabin, we stayed in the cabin called the hive it was right at the end which was perfect for us as we had a dog , the accommodation is like taken your home and placing in a perfect place to explore Millport . We have been allover the world and we don't always say be would return but we will here ,sometimes its not all about the accommodation , its how people treat you and talk to you , we are a gay couple and have been treated bad sometimes but millport was great , so a big thanks to millport

What a find Just back from a very relaxed 2 days at The Hive. Absolutely stunning cabins. Very modern, high spec accomodation with great attention to detail. Everything you could possibly need & eco friendly. Complimentary toiletries as well as tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolate honeycomb and fresh orange. Hot tub was fab with unlimited supplies to ensure it could be fired up regularly, bath robes & covered so it can be used in the rain too. Dog friendly with wee added touches made our Roxi feel welcome. Short 5 minute walk into Millport with lovely walks and places to eat & drink. It was recommended to us by friends & family and we will definately be passing this on to others. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely fab!! Wow what an amazing place!! Myself and partner stayed here for 2 nights on the 27th February, the cabin was outstanding, all the small details just made it. The cabin had its own scent(which is amazing), a games box, Netflix, even tea/coffee and biscuits(and so much more) My fiancè had the best time organising the hot tub and making sure it was hot- there is in-depth instructions for everything in the cabin which makes everything so simple. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely return in summer. Thank you for a great stay!

You’ll find our unique cabins in Millport, on the Isle of Cumbrae.

Our site is located on College Street; a short stroll from Millport town and seafront.

The island is only an 8-minute ferry journey over from Largs on the North Ayrshire coast. Here’s how to get there.

We have a 2-night minimum stay.

Our check-in time is from 4pm on your arrival date and check-out is by 11am on your departure date, so enjoy that lie in!

Yes, plenty parking! The Birdbox, The Jungle and The Reef, and have space to park at their terrace entrance. The Hive and The Woods have space to park approx. 25-meters from their terrace entrance.

We also have 4 spaces in our main parking area at the site entrance.

We have 4x Type 2 EV chargers (7.4kW) available at the main car park. Download the Get Connekted app on App Store or Google Play to get started.

Absolutely! We love dogs 🐶

We have a labrador (Rudi, 10) and a miniature dachshund (Honey, 2) ourselves.

The HiveThe WoodsThe Reef, and The Birdbox are pet-friendly (+£25) (2 max). The Jungle is Pet-free.

All five cabins have a traditional Swedish wood-fired hot tub on their terrace. We say ‘wood-fired’… We actually use briquettes sustainably produced in Girvan from Forest Standard-accredited forests in the UK and rejected timber from sawmills. They are Clean Air Act compliant, Ultra Low emissions and 100% sustainable.

When you arrive at your cabin, your hot tub will be squeaky clean, filled with water, and you’ll have all of the tools, eco-firelighter, kindling, and briquettes you need to get that fire going.

You’ll have an easy-to-follow hot tub safe use guide, which you must read before you get started, and we’ll be on hand or on the phone if you need a hand.

Please note it takes around 2.5 – 3 hours to heat up your hot tub to a welcoming +39°C!

Some people enjoy the experience of building the fire, but if you’d rather leave the hard work to us, you’re in luck – We offer a paid ‘Hot Tub Butler’ service as an optional add-on, where we’ll get the tub cosy and ready to jump right in on your first night!* (If you think we’re dressing like Jeeves, think again.)

*Details at checkout. For your first night only, but give us a shout the next day and we’re happy to get that fire going again!

Creating an environmentally sustainable business has been our goal since day 1. It’s in our Founding Values.

The Cabins have been built locally from sustainable materials, and are powered by 100% renewable energy, primarily self-generated by our own solar panels.

We also have a tree planted for every booking made, through our partnership with Ecologi.

Here’s our Climate Action Plan.

Our cabins are perfect for couples and small family groups, looking for a unique and relaxing island escape.

Each large cabin (The Hive and The Birdbox) sleeps 2-4 people. Children and infants go free. Each additional adult beyond two in these cabins is charged at £50 per adult per stay.

Each couple’s cabin (The Woods, The Reef, and The Jungle) sleeps 2 people.

For infants in any cabin, we provide a cot, all bedding, and a high chair, free of charge (Please request this at the time of booking).

Unfortunately, we don’t accept large group bookings such as stag dos, or hen dos.

We’ve worked closely with the architects, builders and accessibility campaigners to ensure our site and cabins meet the accessibility standards of Building Regulations.

This includes plenty space to maneuver around inside each cabin, a designated disabled parking space, and a solid, low-gradient paving surface from the pavement and car park to the first cabin, which also has a flat entry threshold and other accessibility features.

Please see our ‘Jack’s Alt-Stays Accessibility Guide’ for all information on accessing our site and cabins.

No problem! Happy to help.
