The property is surrounded by beautiful rhododendron woods and sweeping lawns. From the lounge terrace you look down the Stour valley with Dorset lakes in the distance, where you can see spectacular sunsets while sipping a glass of wine. If you walk through the gardens of over 1 acre you can go through the garden gate and stroll through the woods to the nearby Angel Pub for a quiet pint while the children are entertained in the pub’s lovely playground. Just remember a torch for the return journey!
There are several acres of public woods on the northern boundary where neighbours exercise their dogs and you can enjoy a gentle stroll on gravel paths through the dappled light or a jog if you are more energetic! All the paths are circular but a phone might be useful in case you lose your bearings. Sorry we do not accept pets of any kind.
In the front garden is a children’s’ playhouse complete with toy kitchen, table and chairs, dartboard and football table. The hot tub sits on the terrace with lovely views over the back gardens. To use it you need to hire it for £1 per booking and sign our hot tub agreement before arrival.
The property is M2, V1 and H1 rated by Visit England. It has a well-equipped wet room on the ground floor. Bedroom 2 has a hospital style bed [4’] and a single electric bed for the less able. We can provide wheelchair, commode, folding walker, toilet risers, etc if requested. A hoist can be hired in advance and fits well into room 2. Access to the front door is via a wheelchair friendly slope or two steps. All rooms on the ground floor are wheelchair accessible except for bathroom and en suite. We have a well equipped wet room with wheeled shower stool, low mirrors and sink, and large drying rack. The lounge has an open fire and two riser/recliner chairs to assist with standing or a comfy place to put your feet up and enjoy the stunning view. Each bedroom has a small television and comfy beds.
The dining room seats 9 in comfort and looks out on the stunning views down the Stour valley and beautiful sunsets. We have a music centre for your use, binoculars to watch the wonderful wildlife which can include deer, nuthatches, green woodpeckers, blue tit, robins, wrens, magpies, buzzards as well as squirrels, rabbits and foxes. We provide you with a small amount of food for the animals but you are welcome to add your own into our containers. Please also keep the water bowls filled in hot weather. Having breakfast on the terrace early in the morning or at dusk is the best time to see the animals. The bbq has wheels so can be used on the terrace or in the front garden.
