At Kingfisher Barn, discover a hidden gem of bed & breakfast rooms and a variety of self-catering properties in a 17th century farm conversion. Made of red brick, stone and handmade tiles, the barn oozes charm and history.

The en-suite bed and breakfast rooms are surrounding a lovely courtyard garden. The main barn is converted in to two 8-bed lodges and The Nest, a 1-bedroom apartment. Our cottages have been transformed from the old granary, stores and stables in to properties that sleep 2, 3 or 4 guests. All of our accommodation showcases the characterful features of the original farm whilst creating a relaxing space for you to enjoy!

The barn is a wonderful base to enjoy Abingdon and Oxfordshire, with its historical sights, beautiful countryside, independent businesses, eateries and plenty of shopping opportunities.

All our accommodation is prepared to a high standard and we strive to meet the needs of each guest, ensuring your stay is both comfortable and memorable. With free wifi, information packs and tea & coffee facilities in all our accommodation, you should have access to everything you need to make the most of your time with us.

Dogs are welcome here at the barn, but please keep them on a lead around the grounds. Other pets may be welcome at staff discretion.

 There is step free access to all of our accommodation, apart from The Nest which is located on the first floor. All of our B&B rooms are situated at ground level around the courtyard garden, one of which rooms has a wet room bathroom. The wet room has spacious shower, for which we can provide a shower chair. It also has a lowered sink and a loo with additional handrails.

Hazel cottage has an open plan kitchen living area, a spacious main bedroom and a wet room bathroom all on one level.

Stable cottage is also all situated on the ground floor with a sloped access to the front door. Although there is a separate kitchen, there is a large living room and spacious main bedroom. The main bedroom has ceiling tracking for the use of a hoist, for which we can arrange hire. It also has an en suite shower room with a handrail next to the loo. The large family bathroom in Stable cottage also has ceiling hoist tracking.

In both our lodges, the spacious living areas have furniture that can be easily re-arranged if necessary. Although the kitchens are slightly separated they are open to the living space which makes it easy to socialise and communicate between the rooms. Both lodges have a large wet room on the ground floor with ceiling hoist tracking, Kestrel lodge also has additional handrails by the loo. Kestrel lodge has 3 bedrooms downstairs all featuring ceiling hoist tracking, and a further bedroom upstairs. Kyte lodge has two ground floor bedrooms equipped with ceiling hoist tracking and two more bedrooms on the first floor.

We operate on a self check in basis and you can check in anytime from 3pm, on departure check out by 10am.

“We would like Kingfisher Barn to be enjoyed by everyone, with this in mind, some of our accommodation has accessibility adaptations to help make our guests’ stay as easy and relaxing as possible.

There is step free access to all of our accommodation, apart from The Nest which is located on the first floor. Our carpark and path to reception is tarmac. This then changes to patio when you reach the courtyard that the B&B rooms are situated around, in front of the cottages and the path round to the lodge front doors. The lodges have a flat patio back garden and a level concrete seating area to the front.

All of our B&B rooms are situated at ground level around the courtyard garden. Although most of the rooms have a shower cubicle, a couple have a bath and one of the rooms has a wet room bathroom. The wet room has spacious shower area, for which we can provide a wheeled shower chair. It also has a lowered sink and a loo with additional hand rails.

Upstairs in Kyte lodge there is a further 2 bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room. The upstairs in Kestrel lodge consists of one bedroom and en suite shower room. The lodge bedrooms can be laid up as either two single beds or one king size bed to suit the guests needs.
