Mallards Pike is a beautiful lake set in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Visitors can enjoy an all-ability access trail which circles the lake, suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There are many benches dotted along the trail for you to sit and watch the wildlife enjoying the lake.
Mallards Café serves up a range of hot and cold food, including homemade cakes and a range of drinks. There is indoor seating available with large windows looking out over the lake, or make use of the large outdoor picnic area.

If you’re visiting with a dog, make sure you visit our Wallace and Gromit trail, which has lots of fun activities for your pooch to try out along the way. Children can enjoy a spot of Gruffalo orienteering around the lake, to help them learn basic map skills.
If you’re looking for something more active, there is a range of waymarked running trails, with varying lengths from 2km to 10km. There is also Go Ape Tree Top Challenge and Forest Segway available.
