If you’ve worked up a thirst, there is a café on-site serving home-made daily specials, breakfasts, soups, snacks and yummy cakes made with locally sourced produce. Refuel with Buxton Coffee Roasters coffee or Born Wild artisan teas, also available at the gem shop.
Our gift shop stocks a range of local crafts, jams and chutneys alongside gemstones from across the world. We also have a small selection of Blue John jewellery and a wide range of the latest Buxton Civic Association Publications.
We are open 7 days a week. Please book your tours on-line, as walk-ups CANNOT be guaranteed.

There are no more than 28 steps and less than 10 steps at any one time.
The cave is a cool 7 degrees Celsius, so don’t forget your coat.
The cave is lit with an LED light display and the tour involves a blackout, so customers can experience complete darkness.
We are now a dog friendly attraction. All Standard Guided Tours are dog friendly. All well-behaved dogs must be on a short lead. Full T&Cs on our website. Please note dogs may not be allowed on special events.

Read LessPoole's Cavern is a 20 minute uphill walk from Buxton Railway Station and Bus Station. From the Crescent and Tourist Information Centre follow Broad Walk and Temple Road to Green Lane and The Cavern. By road follow the brown tourist signs from A6, A515 or A53 to Green Lane. Pay and display car park for 80 vehicles priced at £2.00 for 4 hours, or £3.00 all day. Level access to visitor centre. There is no public transport bus route direct to Poole's Cavern. The nearest railway station is Buxton, which is 1 mile away.
