Established in 1980, Ventnor and District Local History Society records and preserves the history of the Undercliff and surrounding villages.
The Society's Heritage Centre, conveniently situated in the centre of Ventnor at 11 Spring Hill PO38 1PE, was purchased in 1987. The Centre houses permanent and special exhibitions and has separate areas for research and storage of the Society's extensive collection of photographs, documents and artefacts.
Admission is free but donations to support the Society's work are welcome. The Society undertakes research into the history of the area and holds popular monthly meetings.
Local history books and pamphlets published by the Society and others are on sale at the Heritage Centre and can be ordered on line at www.ventnorheritage.org.uk/shop for delivery by post.
