About

Xplore! is the premier Science Discovery Centre in North Wales attracting families,  tourists, community groups, and school groups of all ages.

Xplore! is a visitor attraction and educational charity in the heart of Wrexham.  As a subsidiary company to Wrexham University  we exist to see the local and regional communities actively engaged with and passionate about science, enriching the lives of over 70,000 visitors every year.

We host regular Inclusion Days

What exactly is Inclusion Day?
Here at Xplore! we want to ensure that every individual who walks through our doors feels comfortable. Inclusion day is a way for individuals to experience our centre and activities in a way that works for them.

What do we do differently?
We turn our music down, lower the lights and provide a quiet space. We have sensory bags you can borrow for your visit with a range of fidget toys and communication cards. Our team are trained in inclusive practices and are on hand to help you in a way that works for you.

What can I expect on the day?
On the day you can expect the centre to be calmer and more relaxed giving you plenty of opportunity get hands-on with our exhibits. Our quiet space has tabletop puzzles, bean bags, carpeting and soft LED lighting away from the main exhibition. We will also have either a drop-in version of our current live science show or interactive mini experiments to enjoy.

What is Xplore! Nature?
Xplore! Nature is an inclusive and engaging space where Xplore!’s award winning science engagement meets the world of forest school provision. The space covers 95 acres and is a wonderful mix of deciduous old growth trees, intriguing paths, and amazing adventures.

The site has a rich history having been in constant use for over a thousand years from a world war 2 prisoner of war camp, to a norman castle; and now Xplore! Nature is the next step in the sites’ incredible history.

We have crafted a variety of outdoor learning activities facilitating knowledge-gathering and social development helping visitors of all ages to build a connection with the world around us.

Our current Xplore! Nature sessions include:

- Stay and Play toddler sessions

- Birthday parties in the woods

- Forest school sessions available for school trips

- Community group hire

- Company Team Building and mindfulness sessions.
