Race Against Dementia Day is an annual day that aims to raise funds to help beat dementia – will you be joining the race this year?
Did you know that someone is diagnosed with dementia every three seconds? According to recent statistics, over 55 million people across the globe are living with dementia, which is why the organisers behind Race Against Dementia day is working to make significant breakthroughs in dementia research.
Race Against Dementia Day takes place every year on 21st January, it was founded by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, following his wife’s diagnosis and raises funds for research into a cure for dementia. Because of Sir Jackie’s background in Formula 1, the aim of the organisation is to follow the same precision and lateral thinking of the sport in raising funds and researching.
It isn’t just racing royalty you’ll be supporting, Race Against Dementia is one of the Duchess of Edinburgh’s many charities. Actress Florence Pugh is also getting involved after becoming an ambassador last summer.
