What do stargazing, artificial intelligence, Pink Floyd and Harry Potter have in common? They’re all part of the After Dark evening events programme this autumn at Winchester Science Centre. A mix of family and adult only events will take place throughout September, October and November.

For families there’ll be outdoor stargazing at Night Sky Live (Thursday 24th October and Thursday 7th November), a classic Disney Halloween showing of Hocus Pocus at Starlight Cinema (Sunday 27th October) and the spellbinding Science Explained: Spells and Potions featuring a classic cinema screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Thursday 30th October).

And adults won’t be left out with the return of Pink Floyd (Saturday 19th October and Saturday 23rd November) and Led Zeppelin (Saturday 30th November) in the Planetarium, an adults only Starlight Cinema with the screening of the cult favourite 28 Day Later (Sunday 27th October) and an Artificial Intelligence takeover of the hugely popular Science Lates (Friday 4th October).

Night Sky Live

Get set for a family astro adventure this autumn and winter. Visitors will start their adventure in the Planetarium where they’ll learn the skills needed to identify what’s up in the sky. Armed with knowledge, families will then follow the stargazing host out into the South Downs National Park – an international dark sky reserve, the perfect spot to observe the stars, constellations and planets.
