Did you know that the third week of June every year is Learning Disability Week?

Running from 17th – 23rd June, Learning Disability Week will be looking at challenging the barriers that people with a learning disability face on a day to day basis. With the theme of Do You See Me? there will be a selection of talks and activities taking place via Mencap and other organisations to celebrate the rich and diverse lives of those with learning disabilities.

Did you know that research from Mencap shows that 1 in 3 people with a learning disability spend less than an hour outside their homes on a typical weekend? Let’s change that this Learning Disability Week.

Mencap are running a series of talks throughout the week, so head to their website here to get involved.

Looking for things to do this Learning Disability Week? Break the cycle of staying in all weekend by visiting one of the many attractions across the UK who cater to visitors with Learning Disabilities.

In Devon, Calvert Exmoor have a host of accessible activities for people of all ages and abilities. In the north of England, Alpacaly Ever After let you get up close and personal with some super cute and fluffy alpacas, while Fairytale Farm in Oxfordshire is a day out the whole family can enjoy.
