The LEVEL Centre and Bella Milroy are excited to announce that Further Afield 2024 is now live! Further Afield 2024 is an ambitious, disabled-led online programme that explores art and disability in rural spaces.

The programme began in 2022, when disabled artist and curator Bella Milroy, in partnership with level Centre, hosted a number of interviews with disabled artists based in rural locations across the country. Now in 2024, they have collaborated again to curate a series of new recorded interviews, written work and research into the experiences of disabled artists in rural settings. In a series of six interviews available in video and audio formats, Bella speaks with artists across the UK, covering everything from barriers to access, isolation, rural infrastructure, creative community and how important diverse, inclusive and accessible opportunities are.

The programme features some of the most exciting artists and writers working today offering insights into how disabled artists create.
