West Midlands Safari Park is celebrating two of its most-loved inhabitants this summer – charismatic rhinos and mighty dinosaurs.

The brand-new Dinos & Rhinos event will run daily from 1 to 31 August 2024 and will feature a whole host of activities, competitions and even a live show.

Guests can take a journey back through time in Land of the Living Dinosaurs, where they can meet Rocky, the resident raptor, take part in a raptor training session and even take a picture with him.

There will be a dino quiz where guests can win tickets to the Park’s Santa Safari event and there will also be the chance to meet some roaming baby dinosaurs, at intervals across the day.

In the walk-through Discovery Trail, the Park’s conservation and education teams will be championing rhinos and guests can take part in several themed activities.

PR & Events Executive, Bethan Davis, said, “We’re really excited to welcome guests over the summer holidays and add even more value to their day tickets, by hosting our very first Dinos & Rhinos event. Guests will be able to take part in a trail, a quiz and a photo competition to win some amazing prizes and have lots of fun at the same time. We will also have a brand-new Raptor Show, where kids can help train a raptor and have their photo taken with it, if they’re feeling brave!

Meanwhile, our conservation and education teams will be teaching our guests about the amazing world of rhinos, alongside raising awareness and fundraising for our charity partner, Save the Rhino International. Children can earn a special sticker for learning a rhino fact and they can find out what they can do, to help these amazing, endangered animals before it’s too late.”

On arrival, children will be able to collect a trail card to follow the clues to dino and rhino questions around the Discovery Trail. If they get all eight questions right, they can enter a draw for a chance to win a Safari Lodges stay for up to six people.

There will also be a new photo point in which families can take a picture and then post it to the Park’s Facebook page, to be in with the chance of winning a VIP Indian Rhino Feed experience for four people.

On weekends, guest can meet the Park’s explorer characters Eddie and Eliza, who will have a baby dinosaur buddy accompanying them, who can also be seen on weekdays with their keepers.

The Dinos & Rhinos event is included in the admission cost and the best prices can be booked online in advance. Under 3s are free and admission booked online includes a code for a free return visit.
