  • Spooky Station Stories (26 October - 3 November): Uncover the haunting histories of Pickering and Grosmont Stations as you dive into our spooky story competition. Let your imagination run wild as you explore the eerie tales of these historic locations. Pick up a competition sheet from any station shop.
  • Wand Making (28 October, Goathland Station): Craft your own magical wand at Goathland Station and get ready to cast your spells. Perfect for budding sorcerers. Drop-in sessions throughout the day.
  • Storytelling with Hoglets Theatre (29 October, Pickering Station): Gather around as Hoglets Theatre brings the mysteries of the Moors to life with captivating storytelling sessions. Pre-book your place, as each session is limited to 25 children.
  • Owl Crafts (30 October, Goathland Station): No young wizard is complete without an owl. Create your very own feathered friend at our owl crafting workshop.
  • Potion Class (31 October, Goathland Station): Test your skills at potion-making, combining magic and science. Do you know your eye of newt from your frog's leg? Drop in for sessions throughout the day.
  • Mini-broomstick Craft (1 November, Goathland Station): Fly away on your very own mini-broomstick, crafted by your own hand. A perfect way to end a magical week.

Join us at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway this October half-term for a spooktacular family day out. Later in the year, enjoy fuss free trips on the Santa Specials. This year, North Yorkshire Moors Railway will be offering fuss free coaces as part of its long-term initiative to make the heritage railway attraction accessible to all thanks to funding secured from the Yorkshire's Magnificent Journey project. This includes welcoming all on board the festive Santa Specials services running on 30th November and through December. 

The festive adventure begins at the beautifully decorated Pickering Station with twinkling lights, real Christmas trees and the joyful sounds of Christmas music. Take a Christmas selfie, visit the charming Christmas tea rooms or browse the Christmas Emporium for unique gifts. 

There is dedicated wheelchair space in the fuss free carriage, with fold down seas for travel companions.
