Purple Tuesday will be back on 12th November, and there is still plenty of time to get involved and join thousands of businesses and organisations across the world to celebrate accessibility and inclusion.

Did you know that there are 1.8 billion people with disabilities around the world? That’s 17% of the population and despite this, 78% of those people find shops inaccessible. That’s not all, theatres, cinemas and art venues are found to be inaccessible by 48% of disabled people. That’s a lot of people missing out on catching their favourite bands and unable to pop to the shops when they run out of something. That’s where Purple Tuesday comes in, every year, the global event helps businesses become more accessible by raising awareness and encouraging them to commit to improving their accessibility, which can be as simple as offering quiet hours once a week.

There are loads of ways you can help your disabled customers and visitors and getting involved in Purple Tuesday indicates your commitment to providing a safe and suitable environment for all your customers.

This year, Purple Tuesday will be holding events not only across the UK and the USA, but also across the UAE, South East Asia and Pakistan!
