Leading tourism businesses from across the South West of England celebrated in style as over 90 awards were presented at this year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards, held at the Eden Project.
428 entries were submitted from across the region including Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly.
Members of Tourism for All fared well at the awards this year, with three of them being recognised for their commitment to inclusive and accessible tourism. Bristol’s Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm won Gold in the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award, while WWT Slimbridge in Gloucestershire received Silver and The Roman Baths and Pump Room in Bath won Bronze.
Marsham Court Hotel, in Dorset, was also recognised, winning Silver for Business Events Venue of the Year. In the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category, Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park received Gold, with WWT Slimbridge winning Silver and Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm receiving Bronze. Roman Baths and Pump Room also won Silver for Wedding Venue of the Year.
Birchcroft Hideaway's Mary Pidgeley was honoured with Unsung Hero Award and Gwel An Mor received Bronze in the Spa and Wellbeing Experience of the Year categroy.
